On Monday, we received two new arrivals from Frederick County, Neeko and O'Hara. Neeko is a 20 year old flea-bitten Thoroughbred gelding. O'Hara is a 20 year old chestnut Thoroughbred mare. Both are suffering from starvation and rank as a 2 out of 9 on the Henneke Body Condition Scale.

Yesterday, we received a donkey from Baltimore County, Petunia. She is actually the opposite of what we usually see come through our doors - Petunia is extremely obese with foundered, overgrown feet. She ranks as a 9 out of 9  on the Henneke Body Condition Scale. Petunia will be getting her hooves trimmed ASAP and will also be put on a strict diet plan to hopefully bring her weight down to a healthier level.
