We have moved a majority of our horses to once a day feed. All horses are fed in the morning and only horses that need to continue on twice a day feeds are being fed in the afternoon. Morning feed starts at 8-8:30am and ends around 10-10:30am. During this time period, all horses on the farm are groomed, feet are picked out, and meds are administered as needed. Horses who are not on 24-hour grass turnout or who are hard-keepers are still on two feedings per day. Critical care feedings are proceeding on as normal. This new feed schedule has really opened up the day and allowed more time for general barn chores, extra chores around the farm, meds, grooming, games, and fun!
