As some of you know, Poker has been lame. Since rest and time have shown little improvement we had the vet come out for a second appointment to look further into what may be causing her discomfort. Upon x-ray of her shoulder, he found a small hairline fracture to her humerus. The hairline is small with no displacement, which means that with time and more rest she bounce back 100%. She will be on stall rest for the next 2-3 months, after which we will follow up with the vet to see how her injury has healed. She should make a full recovery with no limitations. Time to dig out the enrichment toys for our intelligent mare. Don't want her getting bored!
