About Me
I like horses and horse people and I am trying to fit them into my life again. I've owned two wonderful geldings over the years, one of which was a rescue. I am happily fostering Oleander.

About Me
My name is Andrea, I'm 23 and I currently live in Baltimore. I grew up with horses, and since living here have not been able to ride or interract with horses very much at all. I am excited to be able to Volunteer when I move to the Frederick area, and am very interested in possibly adopting one of the S.O.S horses that I have fallen in LOVE with! I'm an event rider, but I've done a little of everything from dressage to western to australian pleasure (which is weird) but I did it lol. I have even done a little vaulting...not on a moving horse at all, just on a standing one, But I loved it! I trained my own horse from the time he was 2 days old, and he is now 5 years old. He is currently living with a friend in Vermont until I move him down here this summer to Frederick, not much space in the city for a horse

I adopted my mare, Misty, from Days End in 2000. Her name was GiGi and she had a filly, Nehi, before I adopted her. She is 22 years old now, and we love to trail ride.

About Me
I have been a Noah's Wish volunteer since 2005 and am currently an assistant coordinator with Region 4. I have responded to 3 hurricanes. I have supported Basset Hound rescues in the mid-Atlantic region for 18 years and am currently the transport coordinator for Basset Rescue of the Old Dominion (BROOD). I am actively involved in disaster awareness as it relates to animals and pet preparedness in Maryland through the Maryland (MD) State Animal Response Team (SART) and the Prince George's County Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). I started volunteering with Days End in December 2008 to learn more about equine care so that I could potentially use that skill during a disaster response. After unexpectedly visiting a donkey rescue in Greece and discovering a donkey "problem" on Hawaii's Big Island on recent vacations, I also have a pipe dream of someday adopting a donkey or two or three with the real pipe dream of starting a donkey rescue.

Prior to volunteering for Days End, I had no knowledge of horse and equine care and handling. However, through the volunteer orientation, volunteering on Sundays when I can, and attending the LART training, I am slowly learning about horses. I more information under "About Me" |

My childhood dream was always to work closely with a horse rescue, and my adult fantasy is still to have an animal sanctuary of my own some day. Maybe Elephants, that would be so cool. Anyway I have always wanted to at least volunteer at one and slowly help the horses in any way I can. |
