JUNIOR HORSE RESCUE CLUB
________________________________________________________________________________
Days End Farm's Junior Horse Rescue Club (JHRC) is a venue for our youth volunteers (under 18 years of age) to get involved and learn about various horse-related topics. It was created to enrich our youth volunteers' experience at DEFHR, provide them with an education that can help them in their future with horses, and reward them for all of their hard work that they put into helping the horses under our care. Some of the topics covered include:
Husbandry, health, wound care, wraps, nutrition, dentistry, parasites/deworming, diseases/vaccinations, grooming, training, neglect/abuse, rescue, rehabilitation, re-homing, and much more.
JHRC is a great way for young volunteers to gain experience as well as make friends along the way. The club is open to all volunteers who have completed Volunteer Orientation.
**
In order for youth volunteers to take part in JHRC, they must also be active in the barn. Volunteers who only come to DEFHR to attend meetings will not be permitted to continue participation in the club. Hours will be monitored to make sure all volunteers remain active in the barn outside of JHRC.
